What We Offer
Our Programmes
We offer bespoke, one-to-one mentoring programmes for young people aged 7–16, fully tailored to each individual. Every programme is designed in partnership with the school, the family, and the young person themselves.
Primary School Support
We work with primary school pupils who are struggling to access or thrive within mainstream education. Whether a child is facing social and emotional challenges, experiencing anxiety, or simply needs a different environment to flourish, our KS2 programme provides the consistent, personalised support they need.
Our trained mentors build trusted, one-to-one relationships with each child — meeting them where they are and working at their pace. Through a carefully structured programme of educational and enrichment activities, we help young people at this stage develop the social and emotional skills, confidence, and love of learning that form the foundation for everything that follows.
We work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and families throughout, ensuring our support complements what the school is doing and that progress is recognised and celebrated.

Secondary School Support
The secondary school years can be particularly challenging for young people who are struggling — whether through disengagement, social and emotional difficulties, exclusion, or other barriers to learning. Our KS3 and KS4 programme provides the personalised, sustained mentoring support that can make the difference at this critical stage.
Working one-to-one with a dedicated mentor, young people aged 11–16 are supported to re-engage with learning on their own terms. We help them understand their own strengths, build resilience, develop the practical and interpersonal skills they'll need for their futures, and find a positive sense of direction — whether that's back into school, into further education, or towards training and employment.
Throughout the programme, we maintain close communication with the school, pastoral team, and family, ensuring a joined-up approach that gives each young person the best possible chance of success.

Our Approach
How It Works
Our Philosophy
Intervention, not a destination
Our programmes are a bridge, not a permanent alternative. We work with young people at a critical point, helping them stabilise and grow so they are better equipped to re-engage with their education.
Tailored to each individual
No two young people are the same, so no two programmes are the same. Every session is planned around the needs, interests, and pace of the individual — always adapting as they develop.
Working closely with schools and families
We keep schools, SENCOs, pastoral leads, and families fully involved throughout. Regular communication ensures everyone is working towards the same goals for the young person.
Reintegration as the goal
Where possible, our aim is to reintegrate young people back into mainstream education with greater confidence, improved skills, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Please note: this is an example only. Every session is fully tailored to the individual young person's needs, interests, and stage of development.
The Bigger Picture
Supporting a Return to Mainstream School
A key goal of Northway Education is to support young people back into mainstream school wherever possible. Our programmes are not a permanent alternative to education — they are a stepping stone. We work with young people at a critical point, helping them build the stability, confidence and skills they need to take the next step forward.
Throughout every programme, we work closely with the school to regularly review progress and plan a gradual, supported return to mainstream education when the young person is ready. Reintegration is always carefully managed — never rushed, and never done without the full involvement of the school and family.
The pace of reintegration is always led by the individual. We listen to the young person, take account of their readiness, and move at a speed that gives them the best possible chance of a successful and lasting return.
Our Reintegration Principles
- Reintegration is always the goal where it is in the young person's best interests
- Programmes are a stepping stone, not a permanent placement
- Progress is reviewed regularly with the school throughout
- Return to mainstream is gradual, planned and fully supported
- The pace is always led by the individual young person
- Every reintegration plan is agreed in partnership with the school and family
Interest-Led
Built Around What They Love
Our approach is entirely interest-led. Whether a young person loves gaming, football, art, music, cooking, or something else entirely — we build their programme around what genuinely motivates them. That's what gets them engaged, and keeps them coming back.
7-a-Side Astro Pitch Access
Sport optionWe're fortunate to have access to a full-size 7-a-side 3G astro pitch with all equipment during school hours. For young people who enjoy football or just want to get active, it's a fantastic resource. That said, sport is just one of many options — plenty of the young people we work with have no interest in football, and that's completely fine. Every programme is built around what motivates each individual.
This list is just a starting point. If a young person is passionate about something not listed here, we'll find a way to include it. Sessions are planned together with the young person, their family, and the school.
